I just Googled cattle discussion forum and found a bunch of'em. No doubt you could get any question answered on those. Here's a link to just one that popped up. I'd sort through them and find a legitimate site,not some extremist B.S.

I agree, that's a good site. Lots of good info there & lots of good folks also. There are a few folks I call "breed snobs" but everybody is entitled to their opinion about which cattle breed is best.

Longear, Dad raised fat cattle, fed them out for 30 + years. We fed them ground shelled corn and good hay, nothing else. They had all the water they wanted to drink. According to Iowa state university tests at the time I was in FFA, his rate of gain was 1 of the highest in the state. They came out several times and checked it out. He used a pore on product to help control flies. That was the only thing he used. They were fed to 1300 lbs. To this day I cant stand grass fed beef it is tough and has no taste to it.
