STP oil treatment

If he is still alive I'm sure Andy Granatelli uses it. I worked in a building once where the owner was friends with Andy Granatelli and the whole store room was STP products.

Yup, buy a tube of the resizing lube from the green reloading guys and compare it to STP. if there is any difference between the two, it would have to be a chemist who finds it.

I have just a few cans left from the old days.
I mix a can with a gallon of drain oil (mostly Mobil 1) for use as bar/chain oil for my chain saws.
Works really well!

Great for reassembling. Not too thick, and definately not too thin. Gives a good coating, thats for sure.

Way back when I had some warn teeth in the tranny of my '69 Chevy K-20, I used it instead of 90 Wt gear lube because it was 200 Wt. Didn't notice the warn teeth with that stuff. Only problem was shifting in mornings after setting over cold Winter nights was a bear until it warmed up and thined out.

Lilewise I used it as a reassembly lube for yrs always worked good for that, I can imagine that it was a bear to shift in the winter when used in a tranny.

One time I mixed it with the oil in my Model T. I had a hard time stopping the car because the brakes are in the transmission. The engine and transmission share the same oil.

Myself and a couple of older guys were just talking about STP on Friday. I dont think i've seen it around here for several years. Central Iowa. Might have to look now.

In the Winter, STP is THE SLICKEST lube you will ever put on a 5th-Wheel plate on a Semi..

Never had my Steering tires refuse to turn the truck with STP on it..and that is always a GOOD thing..!!
