Hey.

My wife and I read your post about discontinuing ranching.

You said that you ranched 1800 acres. Just wondering what the tax burden is on a piece of land that size,

rad, My property taxes are $1230 for the entire place. The home 1/4 alone is $320.

(quoted from post at 12:50:19 06/04/14) WOW!!! That's cheap. I pay over [b:5ce16668a5]$3,000.00 for my less than 80 acres.[/b:5ce16668a5]

y brother lives on a 10 acre acreage 20 ml north of me, he pays over 4 grand.
I we as farmers would've to pay taxes like that we would've been broke before we started, it would amount to 1/2 of my gross income.
Maybe your 80 acre plot is worth more than my Ranch:lol:

PS: I have a power line revenue of 3 times my prop tax bill. i'am doing fine

That is an excellent value if you compare it to
where I live in upstate NY.

Sounds like a pretty great place to live.

I just spent all day wrestling with fence and
fencelines. I cant imagine maintaining fences on a
piece that big.

If you like peace and quiet and lots of space and freedom this place is hard to beat i say.

I have only 12 ml to maintain.
Everything here is 5' high page wire.
Other than cutting up some blown down trees from the fence after a big wind and renewing a couple broken posts a year my fences are pretty well been maintenance free since i put them up 18 years ago.Altogether a week a year maybe.

Bison:

Several questions.

How hard is it to emigrate up there from the US ?
What are your laws regarding firearms ownership ?
What Rights do Native North American Indians have?

It can't be to hard to get into canada, but it seems to help if you're black or brown or nnalert cause these are pretty much 90 % of new immigrants i see.

One needs a firearm license in order to buy a long gun. there are different licenses for different classes of firearms.
A POL is possession only...long guns only
A PAL is possession and acquisition...long guns only.
RPAL is harder to get and is an additional license for restricted guns like hand guns and some rifles.
I have a PAL and can buy as many long guns and ammo as i want.

Natives have more rights than anybody else, don't get me started.
