replacing clutch on a 4010 JD

Is it much of a job to replace a clutch on a 4010 gasser? I have done clutch jobs in cars and pickups but not a tractor. Anything in particular I need to pay close attention to on this tractor? Can I replace the front tranny and rear crank seal while I have it apart? Or does the oil pan need to come off to replace the seal?

Having good stable support for both halves & a concrete floor makes splitting easier. Also using a couple of long guide bolts helps lining back up while turning engine flywheel to align splines. IIRC engine rear main seal can be R&R without pan removal but requires a special tool. Trans input shaft seal is an easy install. On rejoining halves of tractor finesse them back together DON'T pull them together with the bolts or come-along.

Two pieces of advise: First be sure it is sitting level front to back before splitting. It will be very difficult to push back together if it is not. Second, Use HoboNC's rear support. It is a trailer jack that you bolt to one side of your rear housing through a fabricated bracket. It will make it impossible to drop, and it will support it wherever you roll it.
