Possible? I'm sure it is. But practical???? Would have to be a very special application, so it would seem. I agree with Zach as to strain on axles, etc.

Maybe for a horse racing track that pulls another row of slick tires to groom the track with out putting too much pressure down on the track?

That should increase the sales of replacement axles and maybe drive line parts.

Those outside tires will probably throw up some dirt when turning in soft ground.

You'd have to weld in new stops, to keep the rear tire from trying to climb the front.
Might work in big wheat country, but most of the country, kinda pointless.

That's a Scraper Special. Look at the hook and tow cable on the front corner. I would bet it may be used in the construction / road building business.

It almost looks like there is 4 on the front maybe 3 on the back if you really zoom it in . Looks like it would maybe help stay a float on soft ground but I just don't know if there is enough frame clearance there's a lot of photo shop pics out there

Since you're on the tire topic here's some pictures I took a few years ago. Looks like this would be a lot easier on the axles.

Curious about your comment didn't think hopper bottom bins were exclusive to Saskatchewan?

I'm sure it is possible. A couple of years ago, my son got his Gleaner L2 stuck bad! Our neighbor had a 9600 JD with 18.4 triples. Pulled it right out, after we found a BIG chain. He has a newer 9525? now it has dual 30.5 tires. it is wider than the old triple 18.4's. 18 ft. To wide says will get a tracked tractor next.

I would say as much horsepower as those new big tractors are putting out it will take that much more foot print to put it to the ground. A 150hp 2wd will break loose with duals, so if this one is putting out 500hp, no doubt it takes more tire to hook up. Around here most use wide tired dual metrics, and others use triples that still straddle the rows, this one looks like it would still keep the tires between the rows while pulling the planter. I keep thinking the combines and tractors are at there limit of how big they can become, but every year the limit keeps getting passed.

Don"t know if its possible, looks cool.

Me, I would keep the money the 16 tires cost and buy something just a LITTLE smaller. Then take the rest of the money and buy property!! I am a guy with only 44 acres.
