Reverse Osmosis tank pressure ?

We have a small, undercounter RO system to provide battery water
for the tractors, and clear ice for bourbon.
The flow seems less than other such systems. New filters,
membrane don't change the flow noticeably.
What should the pressure be in the RO tank?

Varies a bit with the manufacturer, but ours says 7 psi. Have to have the right tester to read that, usually a digital tester.

Our old system would leak down a couple times a year; when I'd repressure it I went to 7.5 psi.
Be careful not to over-inflate as you can blow out the bladder inside the tank.

Our new RO is still holding the pressure after almost 4 years.

BTW, people often have trouble with the ice make of the fridge that floods the kitchen when the water line is hooked to the house water pressure.

I hooked the ice maker to the RO; 7 psi is sufficient and doesn't cause any problems with the ice maker.

The RO system can't build up any more pressure than whatever your house water pressure is, then it's going to lose pressure through whatever restrictions are between the tank and the sink spigot.

How far is the tank from your sink? My RO system has low pressure, and I'm pretty sure it's because the tank is twenty feet from the sink. One of these days I'm going to replace the 1/4" line with a 3/8" one.
