needed a few acres plowed so I hooked this up, the 1070 needs weights but hey it worked for this small job, if I want to plow much I would remove the rear bottom the 1070 would be much happier then, I had chiseled this field last fall so the top was loose so it was not the best looking job

Around here we would have the front wrapper, adapter, and 6 weight on the front, plus a couple of rear weights, and calcium in the rears, and 5 18s. would pull nicely on the level in 2/3ps. 2/1 in alfalfa sod and hills, and lots of land wheel slippage. Don't know why Case engineers didn't incorperate a diff lock in the 70 series.

CNT,
My 1070 is jealous of yours. LOL A 6 bottom would not work here in my area of Southern Minnesota. My 4 bottom is about all she can handle in our heavy black soil. Great pics. Thanks for sharing.

Kurt, I need to pull the rear bottom I have not turned this for years it is TUFF!! she carried the front wheels in 2-2 most of the way thru, not how I like to plow lol

Oh does it bring back memories. My first tractor was a 1974 1070 and I bought a new Case 5/16s-5/18s hydraulic reset monobeam plow with it. I plowed many acres with that outfit. It had 18.4X38's with calcium and traction was never a problem, but sometimes just pulling that much plow was a bit of a problem. Very comfortable, nice driving tractor. Jim

Why would you be sorry, for posting this. it's great, to se how other farmers do things, in different areas, of the country side. Thank you for posting this.

There were a lot of 1070s a few miles south of us in the sand with 6-18s behind. In the clay areas they would pull 5-18s.
