Have you checked your credit card billings this week?

Saw on the news this morning that someone hacked into eBay and may have information on 158 million people from eBay files.

Good thing I've never bought anything on eBay.

You may want to call CC company(s) and check what has been billed to your account recently.

I read this actually happened a couple of months ago, & SO FAR... There have been no reports of fraudulent use of CC's yet! Now my question is, does this apply to all CC's, or just the actual Ebay CC? Because it doesn't say PayPal was hit; which is what I use.

they said no credit cards were compromised, they only hacked into personal info. like birthdates, names and the such,..paypal was not hacked..

My wife's info got hacked in the Christmas time Target hack and it just hit us this past week. The bank called and said someone was trying to to a pre-authorized transactoin for $1 in Nebraska at a hotel. Turns out the hotel did not exist and we live in Massachusetts and have never traveled to Nebraska. Had to cancel the card in person at the bank and request a new one. My sister had the same thing two days afterwards but actually had a $35 charge from a Valero gas station in FL.

Well approximately 6 or 7 yrs ago , paypal was scamming my checking & charge card accts . I called the banks several times to stop them plus the bank my card was through . I had also called paypal in person telling them to stop their fraudgalent actions , but the continued . By the time the banks finally closed my 3 accts until I returned the moneies to them . It cost me more than $1,000.00 before my 3 acts were back in the black again .I then called paypal again demanding my monies be returned or my lawyer would be filing papers against them . Needless to say paypal immediately blocked me from selling or buying on ebay , saying I still owe them money . Ebay & paypal definitely have a monopoly scam going . Nobody can sell or buy unless they are approved paypal users . I still buy to this day , but first coax the sellers to accept a USPS money order , Insured $ Fast. If the person cashes it in at the post office , they are paid in cash immediately . No 13 - 15 days waiting period like at your banks . God bless, Ken

I only use a CC 1 or 2 times per year.
Cash is easier cause I know that I will not spend what I do not have.

I use ebay a lot. Just changed my password. However I pay everything using paypal. So what good is someone knowing my ebay password? I would be very concerned if they knew my pay-pal password.

I use mine all the time cause they pay me to use it. 1%,2%,3%cash back depending on what is bought. gas and groceries is the best and the rest is 1%. You have to pay it off monthly, but the money is not coming out of checking while using the cc.

I've bought many things on ebay I couldn't buy
locally. Sometimes use Amazon, but I research ebay
first, then see which is cheaper. I use buy it now,
because the bidding process is rigged.

Still don't what's the big deal about ebay passwords
unless they can hack into pay-pal too.

I was going to change my ebay password. But, I did not think it thru. Thanks for heads up.
The Wall Street Journal says Paypal was not hacked into.
What I do not understand this hacking that took place in FeBruary. Kind of slow to make it public
