David Brown 995

I was thinking of selling it, but after looking around and pricing new & used tractors in the 50-60 hp range, I think I will keep it for now. I hear some parts are not available anymore, like hydraulic pumps....Just a little undecided about it.

Hydraulic pumps are certainly available. Not much that isn't available, the bigger issue is that Fiat-Case-IH has decided not to support them, so you have to look for parts aftermarket. Then the issue becomes that you need to know where to look.

Get in touch with the folks at this site. Sparex has about anything you'll ever need for a DB and Yesterdays Tractors is a Sparex dealer. From what I've read, the parts listed from Sparex on here is just a "representative sample" but they can get anything that Sparex offers.
If you check SparexUSA dot com you'll see everything they offer.

Sparex-UK has much more available than Sparex-USA.

A&I(Deere) has a bunch too since they own Vapormatic(UK).

Both seem to be quality UK made parts.

a+i has both hydraulic and power steering pumps in stock they are pushing $800 each thou. couplers are also listed.

Thanks everyone for the great replies! I had no idea. New Holland dealership told me I couldn't get parts for David Brown anymore. Thank goodness for YT!

Lots of people who've never looked for DB prats will tell you that parts are hard to get. They really are no harder to get or any more expensive than any other brand. Good tractors.

FWIW, not sure where you are looking at prices. The only $800 DB pump I have seen was the front mount tandem pump used in the 1200 and bigger/newer tractors.

The rear mounted pump used in the 995 is under $500, doesn't use a coupler, just gears to the Cardan shaft.

That said I have seen many pumps replaced that didn't need to be because the "mechanic" didn't understand how the hydraulic system worked.

I just took a quick look earlier they list the rear
pump as you say .A-K962635 lists out at $480. they
also list the tandem pump A-K916535 for the 995 so
it must have been on some of the later ones?
If you have a 4wd tractor some of the front end
parts are next to impossible to get or very
expensive.

Same goes for many other makes.

I have found that there are a lot of new parts coming up on fleabay, listed by various companies who would in many cases be supplying the parts to the equipment manufacturers. Keep in mind that the manufacturers make very few parts themselves. Mainly they buy them in and assemble them. When a model gets to a certain age they will charge a lot more for the parts than they did earlier, partly to encourage the owners to come in and buy new ones. The manufacturers are in many cases putting them out there for the general public, and fleabay is a way to find them. One has to be aware of course that many cases these parts can be lower grade knock-offs so due diligence is in order.
