Haven't heard from JDseller, or Allan lately. Hope they are all right. Maybe they are lucky enough to be able to work their fields? Stan

37Chief,

I believe that they have both posted in the last few days. Allen was snowed in and I'm pretty sure that JDSeller had successfully planted some seeds (don't remember if it was corn or beans).

He gave us an update recently, spring planting is busy for most doing this work, so there definitely are some absences in the classroom LOL. Ya get used to the content by people that post here, then they get busy, so its like withdrawal symptoms LOL when there's lots of work to be done LOL. Personally, I like the spring time always look forward to it and what other people are doing, locally or here over the net relative to agriculture, and some of the gardening and all that.

He got his corn in, probably waiting to dry out on beans. I am about 40 miles from him, same here.

I guess they are busy, sounds like they are ok. I have my work piling up here in Southern Calif. Because of the extreme heat and wind, and low humidity. I am not mowing for fear of starting a fire from a rock strike. It has happened to me in the past three times. Yesterday our area had 8 fires, a couple still out of control. I don't want to add to that list. There is talk of arson. Stan

Thinking of missing people, What ever happened to the guy Lloyd who was going to build his retirement home while living in his new barn/shop?
I think he was in the Carolinas.

Stan I'll send you all the humidity you want, we just need to turn the big fan to the west, that darned steamy tropical air and the darned wind blowing from the south, air was saturated today, thankfully without the heat, I enjoy where I live, but I know its dry out west, I hate the high humid days we get here with a passion, just soaked in sweat for the next 4 months, 'cept on the dry days when we get nice air from the north.

That and crawler tracks is a big no no in conditions like that, incredible how different things are out west, I've been to the west coast a dozen times so far, have to say I like the dryness of it.
