JOHHN DEERE 2010 HYDRAULICS

Not sure I have had the tractor for a couple years. seems if filter was plugged nothing would work. I was planning on checking that and changing the oil. Thanks

Hyd's & pto have nothing in common on a 2010. If filter is clean then I'd suspect the hyd oil pressure flow control valve.

I can't offer any "words of wisdom" here except the
2010 wheel tractors with belly-mounted hydraulic
pumps gave us more problemss with hydraulics then
any other tractor. Especially the pumps made for
power-steering tractors. Last one I worked on was
1991 and the pump was completely worn out. Parts
were not available from Deere and after a nation-
wide search - the guy bought a used pump for $600 !
A year later it failed again. Hope you do better.
Seems the manual-steering pumps are easier to find.

The experience I had with mine was if filter plugged power steering went first. I have a spare pump for a lot less than $600. I would take $150 but I am not sure that will be your problem.

The filter is a washable micro screen and very hard to get clean, simply rinsing it in gas or diesel is not going to get it clean. Hot, hot water and soap, with repeated soaking is the best way I've found to clean it. A waxy coating from the oil is transparent and appears clean, but still plugs the micro screen. Rinse with the hot clear water and use an air gun to blow out the filter. When you think it is clean, stand it open end up and fill it with oil. If the oil does not run out and backs up in the filter it is not clean. It was still available from JD for a price $$$.

Do what Jobird said. I had a 2010, cleaned filter,
eventually replaced it. I always thought the filter
could be boiled out using appropriate cleaner.

Also change the hydrailic-transmission oil.

When you get it working, move it on down the road. Absolutely the worst tractor JD ever made. My dad bought one new!

Priority control valve on early 2010's are on front transmission cover. Look in the round hole on the right side above the floor board, its right behind the line going up to the power steering pump. Early ones are round cover later ones are the flat cover, as per Tx Jim's picture. It does not control pressure it simply puts adequate flow to the power steering before other hdy functions. How do you power the loader control valve? If it runs off the rear remote you have to tie the remote valve open to send a constant supply to the loader valve. Rarely they had a power beyond on the end of the rear remote valve, but they are rare. So how is your loader plumbed?

I love my John Deere 2010 it has run good. It starts when its 20 below and plows snow out of my drive way. Use it to plow and disc plus harvest my hay. Its been real dependable. I put the front end loader on it and that is what I am having a problem with. I really think something may have shut the valve off. I was running a bit low on hydraulic fluid when it stopped working. I am going to change fluid and clean filter on my day off tomorrow, if you have any helpful advise it would be greatly appreciated.

2010 tractors were not designed to be, loader tractors. Plain and simply put, the hdy pumps are over taxes when you add a loader, a better way would be to put a gear pump on the pto and keep the loader independent. As you say you just installed the loader, their is another area to be concerned about. Does your tractor have the flat side rails between the front casting, engine and rear end ? If not get them. Even with them check and keep the bolts tight that hold the main castings together. Other wise the cast ears break off from the twisting to the frame. My best advice maintain and don't abuse it you will be good. Let us know how you make out.

I have had the loader on the tractor for a couple years and worked fine. I see your point think when I get it running I will put a separate pump on the PTO.

I changed the oil and cleaned the filter it was plugged. After doing this the power steering and the 3 point quit working also. I cant here my pump running anymore. I hope i am wrong but I think the pump has stopped working.
