Steering Box - Little Help Please

I'v purchased an early 8n. I believe it is a 47/48. I'm trying to clean everything up and repair as needed. The bump in the road is the part diagram for the steering box sector arms does not match with what i've taken apart. The diagram indicates there should be a washer part #8N3579 toward the end of steering box sector arm....I did not have one of these as i was taking mine apart. Also, my seal Part # D5UZ3591A & 8N3591 was toward the outside end of the sector shaft. The seal in any diagram i found is toward the end of the sector shaft with the teeth. Help.

Have you looked at the parts breakdowns for both the early and late versions of the steering gear?

Below is a link to them, if needed.

(Steering gear assembly COULD have been changed to the opposite version for your tractor serial number, at some point in the last 60+ years.)

Thank you for your reply. Yes, i'm using the early model diagram. I'm guessing someone put it together wrong at some point in the tractors life. Just wanted to confirm before i put it back together the way the diagram indicates. The attached is the diagram i was using.

Number 25 in the attached link was toward the outer end by #26 on my tractor and #20 was nonexistent.
