My Dad had both of his done. Said it was easier than when his hips and knees were done. Just do the therapy like they tell you to...

I'm headed for both shoulders and knees , Hips are okay so far

Good luck i had rotar cuff and bicep both done.sure miss those pains and aches .its nice to be able to open doors and make left turns volleyball i dont think so but i wasnt good at it before.
Hope you have a nice recliner it will be easier then a bed and do your thearpy it will take time but its time well spent and dont be in a hurry to get to work its tempting i did on the farm i was ok in factory not so good . good luck and keep us updated

Bruce, I am 57 now, had Both of mine Replaced 4 yrs ago! Call me If you like and I will talk to my about mine. Best thing I ever did since my shoulders went South!!
My Dr is the Foremost Shoulder replacement Dr in Austin Tx.!! His theory after replacement was ....
In a sling, immobile for 1-month, Do not pick up anything for 30 days, them rehab starts. Work to rebuild Strength, and Dexterity
There are things You CAN Do, There are things You Will NEVER Do again or you will re-injure your shoulder, It was 2 yrs before I was totally confident in most all use.
(512) 577-3837 is my #. Call when you like! Hope it all goes well with your Dr. and Anesthesiologist.

PS. My Pain Level went from Beyond Pegged out to maybe a 2 or 3 on their pain chart!

good luck, i hope it works out good for you.
Let us know how it works out. I thought mine was getting better by its self. But it took a turn for the worst this winter. They told me 3 years ago I needed the roto-cuff operation. Getting cataract surgery next week, knee replacement soon, and then I guess it will be the shoulder after that. That is if my wife doesn't get tiered of having to help to keep my little farm operation afloat.
I wish I would have taken better care of my body in my younger days. Guess its tuff getting old.

Hey John, what can you NEVER do again? Can you throw a baseball with the kids/grandkids, ride a dirt bike, swing a baseball bat?

mustangkev, I will Never hand dig a posthole, or use a Stud Bar to break out Huge rocks in the bottom of said holes. Run an Ax. Run a Chain Saw for that is a tough gig,,, afterward!
I can throw a Base Ball, Some! but my shoulder feels real weird, Underhand Fast Pitch style is no problem with my only son, Batting practice is not high priority, Not a motorcycle rider so that wasn't a concern either!
I CAN Step up a horseback and still rope a Steer in decent enough time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I blew out both shoulders in 15 minutes of each other.....on the same Post hole on My Cattle Crowding alley, Many yrs ago. Hope this answers your questions, Holler at me if you like!
