A 3-year-old boy wandered away from home in Griggs County, ND, sometime about 7 p.m. The family searced for an hour and then called the Sheriff's office for help. People came from all around and organized into walking searchers and those with ATV's.
They searched through the night without finding the boy and officials suspended the search at 2 a.m. when it started to rain. One guy on an ATV didn't get the word and kept searching. A mile from the farmstead he went over a hill and there on the other side was the family dog guarding the missing boy. The dog had been laying on the boy to keep him warm. After a check at the hospital, the boy was released to go back home.
Bet that dog gets extra treats for a long time.
