you're right. in alabama it would be known as a red buckeye due to its blossom color of red. i have been planting buckeye seeds on my land for a number of years now and they are finishing blooming now. like fence rows and roadsides in rural areas. can become quite a large plant. squirrels and deer love the seeds so i have competition for them.
