DH got the kitchen garden tilled yesterday with our little garden tractor.

and i got 3 tamater plants in the ground finally.

it;s been a busy spring, lots of setbacks. oh well, i got no excuses now. time to get growing. :)
 
That looks like a pretty good work out. Just think, folks used to do it with hoes. Some Amish still do. Just the same, still looks like a pretty good work out.

he says the machine does all the work. I've never tried it. he doesn't seem to be too tired when he's done, but it sure makes him thirsty, seems like he always drinks a few beers when he's done tilling.

Looking good! Ours got moved from the house to the greenhouse today. We don't set them out till June...by then they are 2 feet tall. We plant them 15" deep....so they look about like yours.

but they are starting to bud.
 
He looks to me like he's earned to right to have a few beers. Something tells me you don't join him in that. 'Like I"ve always said, there's two kinds of people in the world, "those that drink, and those that should".
By the way, I"d never heard the phrase, "Kitchen Garden". 'Very appropriate.
 
i got some done last saturday, hauled 7 yards of compost and spread it on the one garden, then planted cucumbers, zuchinni, onions, beets and radishes. i use cattle panel fencing for my cucumbers and tomatoes. sure beats staking and cages.
