Ford 850-L

I brought home a Ford tractor last night and I need to ask someone about the model number. The case is stamped 850-L rather than just 850. Was this tractor possibly an LP gas tractor originaly? It does not have the original gas tank in it, but someone rigged up a 1 gallon gas can under the hood and was apparently running it on that. (He must have liked to take frenquent beer breaks)

I believe the 'L' was to signify a factory LP model. Would make sense, with the missing gas tank.

I think I have it solved. It was an original LP that was converted to gas and the hood was replaced with a Power master hood and grill, but evidently the powermaster gas tank would not fit. Time to get out the torch and welding machine.
