I have a 73 model 900 versatile have been using it for a couple of years everything was working good last fall but when I pulled it out of the shed the trans light was on any tips would be appreiated

you may have a little water from condensation plugging the filter

There"s LOTS of oil in there and a few drops of condensation ain"t gonna muck up the shystem. Of course, new hydraulic filters ain"t a bad idea.

That tranny lube system is SO basic, I would suspect a sensor/electrifical problem before I would suspect a pump or other mechanical failure.

Perhaps rodents feasted on some wiring over winter?

Happened to a friend of mine's Versatile. It was the oil pump for the transmission lubrication had sheared a shaft. You should get it checked out before using it much as it may not be being lubricated.

install a gauge and see if you have pressure. If you do than check out elect. wiring and sending unit.
