tractor ticking

On my case 530 in second gear it makes a ticking noise it gets louder under load like going up a hill but its toward the back of the tractor it also makes it in reverse

If you don't find anything external, most likely it's a broken tooth on a gear in the transmission. Most times a bad bearing will make noise in all gears. I don't know anything about your particular transmission, but 2nd and reverse may share an gear, therefore you only hear the noise in those gears. I would pose your question on the Case forum, those guys know much more than I do.
