The two nicest and down to earth dealers in a 50 mile radius of me are agco dealers. One is a old allis dealer and one is a old oliver/moline dealer. What ever they are doing works for me.

I had a great experience at an Agco dealer when I bought a 2005 Massey Ferguson last fall. After being treated like a nobody in several mega Deere dealerships, I was very surprised that the owner of the Agco dealer himself was dealing with me on one of two used tractors on the lot. The others were all brand new. He made sure everything was just as I wanted it to be for the deal to work out. Very pleasant experience and I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to deal there again.

They build some of the bigger machines in a smaller town less than an hour from me. USA made.

Think gleaner, massey and lexion combines are all owned by Agco. Seems like that would be an expensive way to do business, having three brands in the same parent company. I suppose there are loyal followers in each brand. Gleaner just launched a new generation super series machine so they must be planning to be around awhile.

Our local Agco dealer is AgWest they are a great place to shop I have been shopping for parts and other stuff for the last 20 years there.

Our local Agco dealer does a whale of a business. The owners are good to work with and they have a great dealership. They sell a good product and back it up. They sell a world of tractors, combines, and machinery. The people there are great to work with. The dealership isn't a multi-location owned business. Just a pair of owners who started from the ground up with a crew to provide a good business. They are accommodating and hard workers.

I see a lot of guys getting parts from Agco. I have tried the website with no results. All I can get are the same pictures as the ones in my Oliver parts book. What's the trick?

I don't know what happened. I always go in as a guest. Might have to register. I needed some Allis planter parts. The book came up but none of the pages would load. I took the whole cylinder that I needed the parts for to the dealer today and did it that way.

Actually it was Lodermiers in Goodhue MN. I did check at Lake Henry and they were very nice too, but didn't have anything in the configuration I was looking for.

I'm still trying to figure this AGCO deal out. If I go into the county seat for the next county to the east of us on the main road you first come across a Case/IH dealer, a few hundred feet to the east and across the street is a John Deere dealer and about a 1/4 of a mile further to the East is a Caterpillar dealer that sells Caterpillar farm tractors and yellow Claus combines. If you look closely at their sign it has AC, Oliver, Minnie Mo, White and New Idea logos on it. Don't think I've seen a Ferguson or a Ferguson dealer since we moved to Iowa. Previously I lived in Wisconsin, in Wisconsin I saw a higher percentage of Oliver tractors than I've seen any place I lived (Michigan, Illinois, Iowa, Colorado, Oklahoma, Florida, Texas and Tennessee plus an extended stay in Maryland), yet the only AGCO dealers I saw were Massey Ferguson. Seeing Claus combines I assumed that Gleaner was also dead, thought that was interesting as I can remember Blue combines that said Ford on them but were Claus at our Ford tractor dealer in Michigan. Seemed Ford went through a period of selling Claus combines as Fords but them they bought New Holland and started marketing the NH axial rotor combines through Ford Dealers. So I understand Oliver, White, Minneapolis-Moline and Allis Chalmers are all dead names, ACGO isn't making new equipment under those names but I thought that when they made the decision to discontinue Allis Chalmers part of the reason was to focus on Massey Ferguson as the company felt that was the name with the best future in their stable. I understand they bought the Challenger tractor line from Caterpillar. So why in the heck are they working at building up a new name-Caterpillar? Does the yellow Claus combines mean they have discontinued the Gleaner and MF combines?

The AGCO dearer here sucks. I will not buy anything supported by AGCO now. Owner thinks if he has no parts you will buy a new piece of equipment when you have hay down of other crops to harvest.

AGCO builds the Gleaner, Massey Ferguson, and Challenger combines in Hesston, KS. (The MF and Challenger models are identical except for the paint and decals.) The Claas Lexion combine is not related to AGCO in any way but is still sold by some Caterpillar dealers.

It is all about who owns the dealership and how he treats his customers, there is an old allis dealer in a small town that will bend over backwards to get me parts. I walk into the JD dealer and can't even get a belt for my finish mower they sell. Drove 1/4 mile down the road and the new holland dealer sold me the belt. Its all about people.
