Breathing Air System

I agree. Those things seem pricey up front, but after using them, they are pretty cheap. Even if I only paint 1 more tractor in my life (not likely), it was well worth the investment.
 
I have a Breathe Cool. Found it on ebay. Around 250, was brand new and had 50 feet of hose instead of 25 (which I don't see how anybody could use that little).
 
Looked at the full face mask, but I like the hood thing as it keeps over spray off of my entire head and even the shoulders. Plus if it gets damaged, I just chuck it and get another since it is only made out of tyvek.
 
I have a home made one and it works great.
The concept is to put more clean outside air into a hood than you can breath to create a positive air pressure under the hood. This will prevent the fumes from the paint entering the hood.

With this in mind I bought a tyvek hood with down tube. To this I hooked a pool vacuum hose that I already had and run it out outside. The hose is kinda heavy to drag around but it is what I had.
I took a old a/c blower that I already had and formed a funnel on the air output to enable me to hook the hose to it.
 
For certain.
How many people stop to think that if that paint will stick to metal exposed to weather for decades. How long will the paint stick to the inside of your lungs?
