unusual weather

Had about a 30 degree drop from yesterday to today. Forecasters are calling for temps tonight down to 34, maybe lower. Wind out of the north steady around 40 and gusting higher. Mistakenly thought winter was over. Lots of trees/plants gonna get bit tonight.

If it gets that cold, it will beat the records for latest frost/freeze by a long way.

I've lived in Tx all my life and I can't remember a winter like this one!

Must be a pretty massive front. Same thing here in Michigan. Big storms the last two days, lots of rain and wind damage, temps pushing 70. Supposed to drop to 23 tonight and 25 tomorrow night.
On the bright side, the frogs were singing this morning. They say they're supposed to freeze three times. If it happens two night in a row I hope that counts as two out of the three. lol

We went from a high of 74°F to 16°F. Glad I don't have cattle any more. The Alpacas and paco-Vicuñas are doing good.

We have snow and wind in Northern Wisconsin. We were feeling good, the ground was finally getting bare. Snow expected into mid week. This is not unheard of but is not wanted. It's been a long winter!!!

Wind is howling today, (no pun intended) LOL. It looks like the squall line is typical, but the temps on each side are very different, not sure what we are going to get here when it collides, but with the wind coming straight up from the south and off the ocean, and that front, could be some rotation, its been cool here, all of a sudden we have summer temps, humidity, then this cold front on the horizon, will be interesting, wind is testing all the trees today, one place I will not be is in the woods for any reason today.

Saturday was at a tractor show, temp was near 80, was looking for shade!!! Beautiful day!!! Yesterday (Sunday) started out at 7am it was 44, by 10am it was 33and raining , at noon it was snowing, blowing snow had visibility less then 1/8 mile at times!!! Ended up with about 4inches of the white stuff with winds up to 30-40 mph all night long!!! From sunburns to goose bumps!!!!!

Nope, not unusual, My MauMa called this the "Easter Spell", Usually happens, though maybe not quite this cold. She was born in 1906, lived through the depression, WW2, raised 5 children, sent a son and son-in-law off to war, and looked after this red headed orphan quite a bit. Also, It snowed on my birthday a few years ago, April 8 in Van Zandt County, Texas, course it didn't stick, but snow flakes did fall. The weather didn't fool my Pecan trees neither, they still don't have any buds out. JB Dyer

It's cold outside for income tax day.
