case jx 55, stupid me

I hooked up a jumper backwards for about 5 seconds. I now have power to solenoid but nowhere else. This is a 2005 case jx 55. Any ideas what I blew and how to fix it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Dave

May have taken out a fuse or fuse link.

Look around the main electrical distribution
block. Connecting the cables backward would have
stressed the alternator circuit.

There may be a fuse, fuse link (a short piece of
small gauge wire designed to burn in two to
prevent damage to the harness), or a circuit
breaker in the large wire connected to the back of
the alternator. Though this won't prevent the
engine from starting, it could have taken out
another related circuit, just a good place to
start looking.

Once you get it started, check to see if it is
charging, could have damaged the alternator.
