Just old tractors impelements

My old tractor impelement is makeing progress. I am almost glad to see that it is geting done. The plows are up with my dad house and he is geting them ready for them to be put on when I bring him the working frame unit of the (model #39 Roll Over system). The Black smith called me and told me that he will be happy to get done with them because my dad is Mr grumpy to him but he should remember that he is getting paid to do this job ( it is not like free work). I have learned alot about plows and have great respect for those of you who are working farmers that put up with all this. Brent

I'm glad its comming together. But PLEASE stop calling it a "system"! it is not. It is simply a plow.Thats the same as calling a planter a planting system,or a disk a disking system,or your car a transportation system..... that is being silly.True it has some 'workings' that must be timed to work properly, but it is still only a plow.By continueing to refer to it as a "plowing system" only makes you appear to be a moron,an idiot....You are not.! Please dont be offended, that is not my intention.Good luck on the project. If you dont have a book, order one from Binder books,I did.about 15 bucks. Those old plows are fun to use, and real popular at shows. But I would hate to plow a hundred acres with one.I've talked with 'old timers' who claim to have plowed 300 acres a year with one! They were the state of the art in the late '30s clear up to the 50s.Too many of them have been scrapped.Post some pics, please! If you need help, email is open.Steve

My Dad plowed 500 ac. with 3-14" bottom plow every year from 1929 to 1939 and than moved up to a 4-14" and used it until 1946. He did this with a 1929 L Case. On steel until 1938. After plowing the 500 ac. he just rodweeded with a 12 ft. JD weeder and than planted with a 10 ft. JD drill. We are in summerfallow country. 1/2 wheat 1/2 summerfollow. His total ac. 1000.

I sort of cringe every time I see a KNEE near a JD clutch handle..!!
Had my Rt knee crushed SO many times by that ball on the end..!!!
Never used a 2-way, but we never sat with both feet on the platform.!
Whenever possible, the Rt leg was over the seat side..!
