I was at salvage yard yesterday and spotted some old cars. The corvair van and mustang I got, but what are some of the others? Mike

#3 is a '46 or '47 Dodge or DeSoto business coupe, I think- #4 an early 40's Chev or Buick, with the rare sickle bar option, next a Ford carry-all with RV side window, then a '57 Pontiac, then a '56 Ford wagon.

One could spend some time poking around there. In photo 3 I noticed a pair of "interesting " twists in BOTH shafts on the mower in the forground. Do you suppose thats why it is there?

sort of makes me proud of my "48 Diamond T pickup. had it 25 plus years but have not gotten time for restoration; but; it is parked inside in the dry. drove it into the parking spot

Hey Richard,

You are so right, that is a Pontiac not an Oldsmobile. And to make me feel even worse, I think it is actually a 1957 not a 1958 Pontiac. It has single headlights and I think that they moved to double headlights in 1958.

Those were the good old days.

Are those specialty combine sieve screens in the second to last picture propped up on what I think is an old Belair?

i had one of those corvair vans, wish i hadnt sold it now but a man offered me what i thought was a huge amount of money for it, it was a /64, ran great, drove good ,and was a straight rust free original, the owners manuel and warranty card was still in the glove compartment

The corvair van was called a Greenbriar. There is a Falcon maybe "65 in the picture with the mustang. The Ford truck was called a panel truck where I grew up. Chevy had the same thing and the Cushman Man drove a black and white one. I agree the Ford wagon is a '56.

The Greenbrier was the passenger model with all the
side windows. The panel van was the Corvair 95.
They bring a good price restored.

Thanks for the great responses everyone! I only had an hour and a half there and still got 140 pictures. If I could I would make a slide show, there is a lot of neat stuff at this place. Mike

also, to keep this tractor related, appears to be an old Case 600 self propelled combine back there too.
