on my 4440 tractor i noticed the fan had a slight wobble. which part needs to be replaced? do i need to change the whole water pump?

The bearings and seal need to be replaced but a rebuilt water pump would be the easiest. Best done before the fan flies off and eats the radiator.

Probably the water pump. Kstractor is right. Do it and do it now! That happened to our IH B.450 and we needed to replace the pump , the fan and the radiator. We are all wise after the event!

Like Bob says wobble in fan or loose bearing are two different things. Slack the tension off the belt to see which it is before ordering the new pump.

And don't forget to put the fan shroud back on! Did the pump of the 4440 last year and turned around then I was done - shroud. I drilled out the bottom rivets and put it on that way.

Have rebuilt a PILE of Deere water pumps over the years. I guess Deere is still practicing at making a good pump bearing since they only started putting water pumps on 60some years ago LOL
