The oil bath air filter on my MF 35 is different than most I've seen in that it is not round and doesn't have an inner cup in the reservoir.

I've see a few other MF35s with with this type of air filter

but most seem to be round style and all the aftermarket oil bath air filters are round like the ones sold by YT:

The questions I have are ... how much oil should I put in the resevoir? There is no indicator line that I can see ... enough to submerge the bottom of the intake? Is there an advantage to converting to the more common round style? Is there a cup or other filter element that I'm missing? The service manual diagram has the round style.

Thanks for your help

In the pic , see how the oil cup widens out about
2/3 of the way up ? that would be your fill mark .
Fill to that level , and then take off the cup and
look at the filter , oil should be dripping off it
.
