Try the Aborist Site or Forestry Forum. Ask there. i'm pretty into chainsaws and have never even seen an Indian for sale.

In light of the date of posting, I was looking for some kind of "Indian chainsaw" joke (tomahawks chained together, etc.).

Never heard of an Indian, either, and it doesn't resemble the motorcycle of the same name.

Looks like a Tecumseh/Power Products AH47 bolted to one of the many frames that people were using to build chainsaws back then. We had several private label chainsaws in this area back in the '60's, does anybody know who actually built some of these saws?

To answer my own question, seems Mono Manuf may have made some of them, were there others?

I just picked up a Indian Model 2738, Tag on it states "Product of Indian Chainsaw Inc. Chicago 31 Illinos" Motor is free also but missing muffler.
