Different Ford 7700 front end

Was there such a thing as a utility 7700? Tractor data shows the 7600 as the utility model...and they don't have a front axle that looks like this one.

Looks like the Tennessee model, they figured out how to put it in backwards.

As far back as the 7200 (7000 Row crop), That model could be ordered with a long or short wheel base. The difference was the bolster under the front end that held the king pin. My 7200 had that same short wheelbase look to it. I have seen pictures of other 7200's that had the long wheelbase configuration. Must have been an option?

In the supplement of my 5200 owners manual,they show you how to change the wheelbase by reversing the axle. No additional parts required.

As has been said, it's just a short-wheelbase
configuration of a 'normal' 7700. The short or long
wheelbase option was available on every Ford rowcrop
starting with the 6000 and going through the
9700...and maybe some of the TW series. (one
exception being the 4200 - that one was long
wheelbase or n/f only)

My cousin has one like that actually looks like the axle could be turned around to make a long wheelbase.

That is normal.The front could be flipped for
either long or short wheelbase.Short is great for
haying(turns SHORT).
