Will Not Separate! Why not?

Not that it's a big deal to me but I've often wondered when someone has a group of tractors for sell why some say "will not separate". It looks to me that if they want to sell them what difference does it make? After all, it's not like they (the tractors) will have separation anxiety. Any answers???

because people take the good ones and leave the junk behind. Take it all and save the seller the cleanup after.

A couple of reasons come to mind.
First off like Jon said, buyers will cherry pick the best and leave the seller with the less desirable stuff which is tough to sell.

Dealing with buyers can be stressful. By selling their stuff as a group, sellers generally deal with fewer potential buyers.

And in some cases after spending so much time, money and effort into building a collection, it's more important to the seller that his collection remain intact.

The upside for the buyer is when a collection is sold as a whole, it's priced lower than the sum of the pieces if priced individually.

The bottom line is it's the seller's stuff. He can dispose of it however he chooses.

In addition to what has been said, some of us just don't like the hassle of dealing with buyers!

I've got two nice tractors that are going to go this year. An AC B and C. Both in excellent condition, both with Woods belly mowers. I've already separated a tractor and mower once, to sell the tractor. No more. It's all going.

If I can get a "wheeling/dealing" friend to sell them, or a local dealer, so much the better.

It normally screams that 'I want far more than any of the damn things are worth' and I won't sell unless I get my price.
If someone wanted to sell for what they could get, they'd sell them however they could.

If I put all mine up for sale and say will not separate it's quite a chunk of change. I have satisfied my wife's command to get rid of some of that junk, but no buyers, they can't afford all at once.

Yea, it is his stuff. He can do what he pleases with it. May not make sense to you, but so what?
He might not embrace your modus operandi either!
