I got a hankering for a nice 4X4 loader tractor... I found a 06 bota with 1000hr. on it... I talked to the owner on the phone he tells me its a on going issue replacing the hoses on the loader... It has a Bush Hog loader that was installed when he brought the tractor new....The first thing that went thru my mind is he is using cheap hoses but he tells me the local hose repair is making up the hoses that don't last long... The local hose repair has a good reputation I have used them with no issues... I stop by the local bota dealer and he sold the tractor new and installed the loader about all he can tell me is he may have the pump turned up to high for the hoses he says the pump is adjustable...

More talk and it has a 4 in 1 bucket that he said he has thought of welding it shut... Its used on a horse farm mainly to scoop up horse poop and wood savings... I think he has been honest with me do I need those issues...

Which hoses are giving out? The supply and return to and from the loader control valve,or the hoses to the cylinders? Could there be something with the return hose causing the pump to 'deadhead' and maintain high pressure all of the time. I take it that the loader works off of the tractor hydraulic pump. Some valves need an in, an out, and a return to the reservoir.

You are a good mechanic and I would not let the hose problem stop me from buying the tractor, if the price is 'right'.

My 28 years of KUBOTA experience tells me one thing I have tried several OFF brand loaders on Kubota and nothing works like the factory loader. Now that being said the hose thing is not the thing I would worry about. Don,t know if you know it or not first bush hog got in the loader business by buying great bend . Right after that Bush hog took bankruptcy. A group of foreigners ended up with the loader part and parts and support have been poor. Dealer saying he has turned it up could mean it only needs the relief valve checked. Would not think the hose issue would be something that could not be solved but again I am not a fan of off brand loaders. Is it a four wheel drive tractor?

Gary has brought up something. That tractor needs three hoses alright, an IN, a RETURN and a Power beyond. If they are plumbed wrong when a cylinder tops out their may not be a relief and thus the hoses blowing..Worth looking at.

I had a issue with hoses bursting on my case
backhoe. Newer hoses I had gotten made at a oil-
field repair place. All of them started leaking
right next to the fitting. Come to find out the
guy making them up was running the machine that
crimped them just a little tighter than the chart
said! This make them just last for from 1 month to
1 year. Can't see the hoses bursting being a fault
of the tractor or loader. I had a friend who ran a
580 Case backhoe with the relief valve bottomed.
He could kill the engine. He bent cylinders and
cracked the hyd pump. but the hoses seemed to take
it. He went from the ground to the bed of a dump
truck then to the top of a rail car filled with
ties, Would unload the ties then go back to the
dump truck. He did have channel iron on the
stabilizer pads and a set of rail wheels on the
loader arms.

Check the manual or ask the dealer what pressure
the hydraulics should run on the tractor. The
hoses that are failing will have the rated
pressure stamped on them.

If the hoses are rated lower than the pressure,
there's the problem.

If the hoses are rated higher, temporary a gauge
in one or the valve ports and see what the
cracking point of the relief valve is compared to
the factory recommendation. The relief valve could
be stuck or someone adjusted it.

I have had three kubota Compact Loader tractors. One with a Duall Loader I installed myself. Two with factory Kubota Loaders. I can't remember ever having to replace a hose. I have replaced a couple of quick connects. I broke a bucket cylinder on the Duall but that was my fault, its a long story. They have all been good loader tractors for what they are.
