Wiring diagram for a 2010 john deere.

I have a john deere 2010 that was passed down to me from my grand father when he passed. He was in the process of rewiring it, and I don't have a clue how to finish it I know it was converted from the 6 volt generator to the 12 volt alternator but other than that I'm lost. If any one can help that would be great thanks..
 
12 V with a generator from the factory, and I think positive ground??? I see other postings showing positive ground. My friend's had the battery put in backwards (neg ground) and it took out the regulator. Since it is a working machine, I put in a Delco one wire neg ground alternator.

The wiring is sort of hard to get to in those machines. Not too much there, so you should be able to trace it to repair or rewire.

Perhaps Tx Jim can verify this (I"m NOT a New Generation guy) but I believe that just as ALL Two Cylinder Gas (12 and 6 volt) Tractors were originally POSITIVE Ground, so were the New Generation UNTIL they started using Alternators at which time only then did they change over to Negative Ground.

Yes John to my knowledge all JD tractors that came from factory with a generator were positive(+) ground. Also there will be no factory wiring diagram for a 2010 with an alternator.

The original wiring as shown by JD can be found in the online JD parts manual, search by 2010 and in the alphabetical index under "W" are those wiring diagrams. However the wiring has been altered over the years by previous owners as you have stated, so they maybe of little use to you. With out knowing what items make up your electrical system it is not possible to give reasonable advice. Questions, such as is the key switch original, does the dash have an idiot light or a amp/voltage gauge and what coil is being used. Sorry not to be of more help, but if you have a specific question please ask.
