JD Basin/pluddler disk. They make a dip to hold water. Was told Forest Service used them. Made since that Granddad had one on the dry land wheat farm in Nebr.

I would hate that thing - looking around stacks makes me crazy! If I would lose some hearing I'd pull the stacks off of several things around here. If I pulled the stacks first I could lose the hearing.

Job,........for some reason I cannot upload pics I have downloaded from my smart phone onto my desktop so I guess no pic to follow.

I've just be waiting on J-day!!

As Euell Gibbons used to say,
"Many parts of a JD are edible." LOL
May have posted this one before,
but I love it... our grandson's
very first "tractor-tasting" event.

I never noticed looking over the stacks on a JD, cultivating you"re always looking at the row off to the side, plowing you look over your shoulder, hauling hay you"re looking for bales hidden in the second cutting, and at the guys on the rack, no time to look at the stacks,

Old Popper, my mom was born and raised in Lake Norden, SD. The nearest large town is Watertown, SD. What town are you from?

Hate to have to stoop to playing the John Deere card, but here it is.

I'll throw in a Jeep for good measure.

John, I live in a small town by the name of Larrabee, Iowa. The map lists the pop. as 132. I am going to Watertown to attend the gun show this weekend. I did, several years ago, buy my John Deere 520 out west of Watertown 20 or 25 miles or so. The fellow that sold out was named John Dallman.

Ah, but you do have one stashed in there somewhere, we've seen it. LOL ! Well here's some of that "J" stuff, one on the trailer coming back from a repair at the dealer, a 3150 JD, I spent some hours on that one, really impressed with its performance, its done it all, from clear snow, handle bales, rake, ted hay, (little large for that) retrieved stuck combine, tractors, bales out of creeks, picked rocks, towed the cultipacker and transported same, we even had it on the NH 315 baler. I also found a photo of it towing the 6 row model 7000 planter.

Furthest one is a 7420 with the '08 vintage sileage special baler, it was nice to see my farmer friend in a late model one, after all the years he farmed, he sure deserved one of these for sure.

And how about one of those "J" D's capturing my car, cripes I woke up and thought the mother ship had landed on top of me LOL !

One parting shot of where we staged all the "J" on another farm where we were doing spring planting.

Jobber

Hand operated, one kernel at a time. corn planter used in early days.

Also understand it was still used some after modern corn planters came along to plant skips or missing corn in the rows.

My 65 4020. Bought this tractor my last year of high school. Told my grandpa I didn't need a tractor that big, he said that its a lot better to be over powered than under powered.
