Had to buy a new rear tire for the 1256 today.HarvestKing.18.4x38. 8 ply. $780.00.Seems that ole 'Big Red' had so much power that he tore the side walls out of it....Grrr. Old one was also HarvestKing.6 years old.60% tread.Pd 680 each for the old pr.

Tires have really gone up.. Put on a pair of 20.8x38 Firestones on the 4450 MFWD this winter. $3800 with new tubes. Bought that tractor in "96....tread wasn"t too bad but each had a sidewall break and I needed a tax deduction. I thot only one was bad, turned out both....easy decision.

Where are you located? They used to sell Harvest King tires where I am in SW MN but they haven't for a few years. I always thought they were a decent tire.

OOOCH.....We might all have to go back to Steel wheels. $800 one tractor tire or four pickup tires. Of course that would be about 8pr of tires for ourselves. lol

And as for me i will stick with my STONES , yep they cost a bit more but we get a lot more use out of them. JUst like the old Armstrong tires if ya were putting a few extra pony's to the ground and had them loaded the sidewalls would let go . Yep they were less then the STONES to buy till ya put three sets on to one Firestone . Borrowed my one buddy's 1086 to pull a BIG set of plows home one time and i was running down the road with the set of 880 Massey 8 bottom on land plows and as i was coming down a hill in a turn the left rear tire blew out and drowned a couple cars and a pickup with Cal. Yea that was fun changing a rear tire alongside a narrow two lane , sure was glad i had bought that set of used tires at the sale as they were 18.4x38 Armstrongs with a little over half tread all i had to get was a tube .

Last fall I bought a new BKT 14.9x28 8ply for $350 and new American made tube for $25 (witch is enough) and mounted it myself. Tractor I bought had 1 new one on it so I bought another one to match it. I also bought 2 new front tires so for the first time in my life I have a tractor with all new rubber. Feels kinda nice. Steve you did scold Big Red for tearing up his shoes like your mom did when you were a kid? My cousin did the same thing last fall with his 4630 JD -duals with a V rip chisel only he has to replace both back tires, His wallet still has cramps! Bandit

Darn! I'm probably too late to the conversation to get your attention.
What is that, a utility? Didn't know they existed.
Also have never seen a 28" power shift rim with 5 rails, only 4.
The 5 rail ones I saw were all 30".

Its a 1550 Oliver diesel utility and is the first one I have ever seen and the first 5 rail power adjust rim. Its different for sure. Bandit

Where did you find the used tires at in western co? I'm searching for a pair of used 18.4r34 for duals in eastern co and have had no luck
