OT--Lumber Ink Marking Removal.

I need to remove the Ink marking from decking hand rails and floor decking. All boards are Pressure Treated and some markings are really dark.
I assume this will fade over time, but I am ready to apply a clear protective coating now.
I have performed an extensive search with no good advise.
I have also experimented with Lacquer Thinner and MANY water based cleaners using scotch brite, wire and bristle brushes and cloth with limited results.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

When I build wheelchair ramps, usually two or three times a year, I
try to put the stamped side down. I do not know of anything that
will take it off, you could use a solid color stain if it really bothers
you.

power washer?? just in that area.. I know caution advised when trying this but might try an area where it wont show if goes south..

Have you tried bleach? and or oxylic acid (wood
bleach) - be careful you don't end up with an oddly
colored spot that looks worse than the ink stamp.

May be next to impossible. I pulled up some 9 inch treated (green color) fence posts that had been in the ground 20+ years (boring bees had destroyed the above ground part). Anyway, the bottom part of the posts still had clearly legible inked markings on them.....good as the day they were put in the ground! Good Luck!

Oxylic acid has also worked for me, especially on removing ink grade stamps from treated lumber.

I have actually had luck with plain tap water on some yellow pine car-siding that we just wanted to clear coat with poly-urethane once, too.

Yes I have tried bleach and some very strong cleaners. I have used sandpaper, and it removes it, but you can clearly see that the sanded area is smoother and is noticeable under the sealer. I have been working with scrap pieces, so I am willing to try anything.
I have not found a way to install standard decking boards--upside down.
When building, I installed railing boards with labeling down, but that's not always possible.
