With spring & summer coming, what do u guys use on front painted area to make easier for bug removal?I have a 2013 Avalanche & boy do the bugs love the front end. I heard of fantastic on the paint helps to prevent bugs from sticking to paint.

Try Prestone Bug Wash. Prestone. Not Rain-X or any other brand. I put a furnace filter in front of radiator behind grill to keep bugs out of the radiator fins. Cheap and works great.

That's what polish is for. provides a protective film that stuff doesn't stick to so well. Fantastic will remove the polish.

For protection, I just use a quality auto polish and remove the bug splatters between washings.
A few years ago, I bought a used minivan and it had the air deflector--bug deflector-- across the hood.
Thing is, there were very few bug splatters or chipped paint, but the deflector pads rubbed the paint where it was connected!
Put on for protection and did damage???
They may not all be the same but I would not want another.
Kind of like a bed liner protecting the bed of truck but rubs the paint off. On the last truck I bought, I added a bed liner to cover the damage.

What works well for me is to spray the buggy area with 3% hydrogen proxide solution. The hydrogen proxide will not remove wax or damage paint.
It does serve asd a wetting agent to keep the bugs wet, long enough that it allows water to saturate the dry bugs so they wipe off easily. Also, the hydrogen proxide reacts with the bug guts, it foams like on a cut or scratch. This foaming action also helps loosen the bugs.
I buy the large bottles of hydrogen proxide from the grocery store, add a pump sprayer head to sprits the bugs on my car.
wet them with proxide, let it soak for a few minutes, then wipe the bugs right off with a damp / wet rag. Atleast twice as effective as plain water.

I read about using HP last summer, with the story saying many detail shops use it to remove bugs. It works remarkably well at removing bugs without removing the wax or damaging the trim and paint.

Put extra coats of wax on the bug prone areas. Makes them easy to wash off with a sponge and soapy water.

Bugs B Gone, a Sea Foam product, works great for cleaning the bugs off, and putting the concentrate in your washer fluid gets the bug guts off of the windshield while you're driving.

Something like that happened to a guy we know. My dad is the top Chevy Technician at the local Chevy dealer, and a few years ago one of the "regulars" brought in his 2008 Corvette and bought a new 2012. He had heard somewhere that those Car Bra things help gas mileage, and overall protect the car. He bought an actual GM one, and had it installed at the dealership.

He put 7000 on the car over the year, and brought it back to the dealership for full service check over. My dad took the bra off, and discovered that it had rubbed all of the paint off of the nose of the car!! Owner was sure shocked, the bra got a one way ticket to the sh!t can! Bryce

If I take my trailer queen some where and know that I will be coming back after dark I take some plastic wrap and a spray bottle of water. EZ peel off bug shield!

We used to place window screen ahead of radiators to keep bugs out of the fins. I like the furnace filter idea better. Thank you!!!
