Farmall H front end

Need some advice. I have a '46 Farmall H with a single front axle (tricycle)front end. I pulled it to disassemble and clean, and found that the lower steering shaft bearing sleeve, probably once brass, is 90% degraded, and the steel liner is seriously grooved.

So....are their rebuild kits for this? Anyone know how to remedy this?

I figue I could probbly just grease the bejesus out of it, since it's light duty now, but it still has a lot of slop.

Curious to know if anyone has any info?

The bushing, 49658DAR, is still available from CIH, for under $80.

I'm NOT sure what you mean by "the steel liner", and it's been a LONG time since I've been in one of those!

Tore mine apart a few years ago to repalce grease seals, and I think eBay had lots of parts. This site might also. Google the parts number.

....you guys absolutely rock. Much appreciate the link, and yes, this is the brass sleeve I need.

What I meant was the cast casing that it fits in is seriously grooved inside (the bolster would press into this), but maybe that"s the way it"s supposed to be??? The lower steering shaft portion that fits inside this brass bolster itself isn"t damaged...seems to be made of multiple leather washers (?), so I"ll order this and get"r going.

Again, thanks so much!!!!
