Larry has asked me to do feature night for him tonight.....lets use an idea from FLOLDFORD......show us or tell us about the 'oldest or ugliest tractor' you have seen? Preferably with pics....if it's not too ugly that it would break a camera! LOL
I think this is one of the oldest I have seen, it might even qualify as being kinda ugly?............Sam

This was either a Regular or possibly an F20 that had a flathead Ford V8 butchered into it. Used both the original Ford transmission (3 Spd, I expect) and the IH transmission.

I wish I'd taken more pictures, it was an epic hack job.

Was it that we've seen or that we own?
Either way,my oldest is my ugliest. 1939 Oliver 70.
Oldest and biggest I've seen? It wasn't the ugliest by far. 1903 Hart Parr.

The oldest is my freind's 1916 Emerson Brantingham 'Big 4' #20.I even got to drive it one time. The ugliest is probably my 1937 Reversed F12/loader(repowered with a 4cyl Jeep/tran).As Fawteen says,an "epic hack job".I am the 'master hack' on that one......

Fairly Old . saw it on town square in little Texas town of Chillicothe TX. Old case I am thinking. Neat little down town display also had old jd on steel.

That's what I thought, and if I could find the snapshot, I think the steering gear was all open which would also point to a Regular.

Looked thru my stash, didn't find the one I was looking for, however this one looks ugly to me. Probably "beautiful" in its day for what it did.

Ya I saw it in Pinkneyville and took that picture. It was looking like rain and they put it inside before I got there so I had to get a picture from behind.

Aw,they weren't ugly. They just forgot to put the front wheel on'em and had to add them later.

Delta Red if you didn't post your F12, I was going to. That said, I'd love to have one hacked up as bad as yours is someday.

Nate

Are those rear tires on the 9N original Firestones? If not, they're sure good original looking for that time frame.

This was at Albany mn power show last year. It was in one of the buildings we were in trying to keep out of the rain that lasted all day.

Amen, Delta wins with that one. And to think you had to work at it to make it look like that ...HEHE

Hey, I think we came up and saw that one last
summer...up west of Ames??? Nice collection and had
a good time.

This one qualifies as ugly, although its not that old.
BN with a hack job wide front.

Maxwells Silver Hammer

i feel ya, i have a nightmare story i'll have to share some time. one thing i learned about my 3/4 ton truck is that the last nut will not come loose, unless, you get all the nuts loose or simi loose first. if you get to a tough one, tighten the others back up so you can get the stubborn one loose and then you can get the wheel off.

First thing I thought of when I saw the topic was that Delta Red would trot out that loader thing, that nobody can figure out how you get on! "Folks, we have a winner!" LOL

Had to go over to Tractor Photos to find this one- Saw one at an auction that was all haywired together, stuff falling off of it, and as you can see, these things weren't beauty queens to start with. That one was truly breathtaking.

Shep, that was hilarious. Especially liked the boys asleep under the tree and missing the bus. Trips like that are part of the fun of growing up.

Local tire emporium just snugs the lug nuts with the impact, then uses a clich torque wrench to finish the job.

Great thread! Love all the rust.

Meet LE ROI... he's the ugliest little tractor I ever chanced to meet. And not even enough rust to make him look "distinguished" either. LOL.

Now off to work. :(
