Tractor Tire Price

Probably just dreaming, but do rear tractor prices ever go down significantly, (go on sale)? Someday I AM getting new tires for my VAC-14, SC, and DC CASE tractors. I think there's a faint glimmer of light ahead (end of kids' college bills). And it's not an oncoming train!

Not on the past decade. USA dollar is worthless compared to the rest of the world, and the rest of the world is ramping up mining, ag, etc and using tires and willing to pay for them.

So..... They go up here.

Yes, they are going down pretty much every week due to inflation. You ARE getting a raise every week like everyone else, right?

The bargains days are over. There are just lower quality tires being shipped over here. You really have to watch some of the off brand today. I have seen some of them that are badly weather cracked in just 5 years.

Doesn't Nebraska Tire offer Blems at a good discount ?? They call them buffed , because the serial # is ground off...

Isn't that the truth Seller! Only time we tried to cut the cost corner we bought a set of Titans for our 70 gas...within 3 years significant side wall cracks, within 5 years one side wall split, so by the time we got the new Firestones on it actually cost us more. We NEVER buy a new tire tha isn't Firestone any more!

i just got some new bkt's guess i will see how that goes i agree on the firestones though always had good luck with them just got a good deal on the bkt's guess i will see if it was a deal or not

Must be an urban legend as I have Titans on everything and never had a problem.

Bought a set of Firestone 12.4-38's last year. It was a $1,000 dollar bill when I got done. Tires, tubes, labor, and alcohol. Coulda went cheaper, but after hearing all the horror stories, thot this was probably the cheapest route.

I will never buy a Firestone again because of your reasons for buying them. By Firestones were totally junk.

Titans were 10 times better than Firestone in traction and the carcasses held up, Firestone the sidewalls shot after first year. And it was not from running them low. Firestones on a tractor would be a deal breaker for me.

Leroy there is a cheaper Firestone that is a junk tire. You can tell by the side wall thickness. The good /higher priced Firestone tire is good. Titan has the same thing. They have a cheap line and a good line.

A fellow just has to be careful of what he buys. Most cheaper tires may be lower quality.

Firestones have come down. I put SAT 18.4x34's 8 ply's on my loader tractor for $735 ea. A quote from 6 months ago put them at $860.

You might stumble on a dealer that wants to be rid of some older stock, usually odd sizes, or one-offs. Seldom will you find a pair of rear tractor tires or a set of anything that way.

Many of the big US tire mfr.'s sold rubber plantations and forests they owned or owned an interest in off to make their bottom line look better when China flooded the US markets with cheap tires. They are now buying more of their raw materials at inflated retail prices instead of posessing them at wholesale.

There may still be a tariff on Chinese tires that artificially inflates the prices of all tires.
