pellet stoves- dont want to steal thred below

We are looking into installing a pellet stove into the basement in our 1200 sq ft ranch. At first look it seems that $3000. up front cost for stove and supplies. Then reason one to look
at this kind of stove is for cost of 6 wks is $190 for a ton of pellets. that is $400 less than the lp gas expense for the same time frame.
What do you boys think? My wife is allergic to smoke so an honest wood stove is out. She also dont care for messy things. I think that this is our least expensive option. So what stoves do I want to look at or stay away from. I would love to use this as primary heat with the current furnace as back up. Thanks for any help you can give.

If you don't buy a Harman Stove still built in the good old USA, you bought a want to be wood pellet stove. Harmans have the best efficiency ratings in the industry for conversion of lbs. of pellets to BTUs, and their patented raised burn chamber, and heat exchanger are second to none. More heat and much less maintainance.

Up here in Colville Wa we have a large co that makes pellet stoves and are shipped all over they are Aladdin Hearth and stove The bad thing about a pellett stove is if you loose power they will not work . If you get one thinkl about getting a good 12 volt battery and at least a 800 watt inverter to run the blower and auger on the stove Good luck Dale

I asked a similar question not so long ago on here Mike.
Got lots of great info, although I still haven't bought one.
One feature that stood out to me is being able to empty the
ashes without shutting the stove down. I've used wood burning
stoves and would have never considered having to shut them
down to empty the ashes.
Here's a link to that thread if it will help you. Thread

One of the best inventions for home heat since the invention of the wood stove itself.
You need a 110VAC supply all the time, you knew that I am sure.
Heating a 1200 sq foot house will be no problem with a pellet stove.
Harman, Lopi, US stove, Breckwell......All good.

The largest BTU output I have ever seen of any stove maker is 50,000.
