We just got home from AZ, should of stayed
longer,+4 degrees! Anyhow, we stayed overnight in
Grand Junction Thursday night and gassed up at
Safeway. 85 octane reg unleaded, And we got way
better than average mileage on that tank. Is that
straight gas without ethanol? We ran it all the way
to Ft Morgan, so it was through the mountains, a
little slush, but OK in general. Good roads all the
way home.

I dont know about the gas.??? but its what I burn.Glad you made it home!The state does a pretty god job of keeping the hiways clear.But you should have called! Steve

I guess Russ didn't know he missed out of FREE LUNCH. Us Colo boys would have fed them. No problem I will clean it up. lol

Yes, your state does a good job on the roads, but it seemed like they were using pea-rock for sand! If anyone was close ahead of us you could hear it bouncing off the car, no chips in the windshield though. I was really impressed with the high fences and the ramps to keep the elk and deer off the road! Talked to a custodian at a rest stop and he said elk coming through the windshield of small cars were killing too many people. We stopped by Vail to use a restroom and could hardy find it for snow, just a narrow path through 5 feet of snow from the parking lot. Last year they were making snow at Vail.

It's all downhill from the Eisenhower/Johnson tunnels to Fort Morgan. I always get great mileage coming back to Iowa from skiing. We're still planning on heading out there this winter, hear the snow is great.
