Cutting Tires?

If you live near a place that recaps tires they should sell you a box of retread pretty resonable. It bolts on real nice and you can get different widths.

never cut so many little pieces like that, but I have hacked apart a few tires pretty easily with a sawzall. I'd imagine that'd do the trick.

I have never cut a tire to bolt onto a steel wheel but I have cut them off the rim before because they were rusted on and a recip saw works nicely for it. I think that I would cut a foot or so and try it then once I know that I have it the right width, mark it all around with a crayon because it is difficult to take just a little more off, and tougher ye to add a little back.

My husband used a jig saw... but said he bought a leather-cutting blade (they're smooth - no teeth).

He drilled a hole in the rubber to get the blade in. He said it worked pretty well - but it will give you a "work out".
