What to do with old corn planters

Here are a few pictures of 3 different planters I've built over the years. The one with all the sprockets I have just finished. It has 32 different seed spacings. I've been building these two row planters for alomost 9 years. These old JD 494A & 694A planters are hard to come by unless you want to pay $400-$600 for them. Back 8 yrs ago I was buying 4 rows for $50-$100. I gave $300 for a 6 row one time. I bought 14 planters one year. I was younger then too...LOL

I never kept one. This is of the extra sprockets I added to this one I have in the shop as I speak. I even incorporated the automatic clutch on the main shaft that was originally on the planter. I do have my last 2 row for sale like the one hooked to the tractor in the first picture but it has the extra sprockets like in the later pictures. I would take partial trade for it.

Planter for sale

I've always loved farm machinery. In 1995 I built a pressurized sand blasting pot blast old machinery. I still use it. I've been to auctions the last 4-6 years and the scrap dealers have run the price of this old stuff up so far it's not cost effective to make smaller units out of them.
