Dodged the bullet

None here in mid Michigan either, but now we've got blowing snow and high winds along with falling temps.

David G,

It ricocheted off of you and hit us! Big time.

We must have gotten 8-9 inches and the howling winds to go with it.

Sure got hit in east central MN. Have drifts 3-4ft deep everywhere. Couldn't hardly move with the 4x4 truck enough to get the tractor and snowblower out of the shed.

We got 11 inches with winds up to 40, sun shining, 5 degrees now with 25 mph winds, I'm snowed in tight! 1/8 mile long drive with 5 feet of snow over most of it. I'm not even going to start on it till tomorrow, I hope the electric doesn't go off so I can get the blower tractor started in the morning. I have lived here 36 years and it's kind of a bad spot, Son who lives next door and I were talking a couple of weeks ago about how bad the snow and cold were this winter compared to others and we rated it in the top 5 of bad winters, but after last night I think it has taken over the number 1 spot. I have never had this much snow around here and have never burned so much wood in any other winter. It sure is a nice spot in the summer though.

We dodged the other bullet also. Was supposed to be 50 followed by lots of rain = flooding. Couple of nice sunny days but not over 35 and not enough rain to spit at. Getting cold now but just average feb. weather.

Speaking of a "mud blower" made me think of those pto driven shallow trenchers to help field drainage where there are wet spots.

Finally got some snow here west central, about 3" of heavy wet stuff didn't blow even with all the wind, should run in the cracks when it melts. Got some rain ahead of the snow. I'm happy for the moisture.

It just came through here at 12:15. Heavy rain and a few bursts of thunder- but it was over in five minutes! Heavy fog is gone and the sun is coming out.....

Old Popper,

Today we have... as my dad would say, "A mell of a hess."

Last night brother-in-law got stuck 3 times on his way home - he has 4WD, so not sure how he managed it... but he did!

Husband called-in this morning... only the second time in nearly 30 years.

Son's factory (and others) just closed for today.

Really ready for some thawing temperatures - but going to be cold all week. Been one darn long winter.

Was brutal trying to get square bales of hay out to our sheep/llamas/goats this morning. Was tough even getting across the barnyard with winds gusting over 40mph. I came in exhausted.
Still have to go out and finish outside chores - anybody got some courage to send?

bigt68,
you're just a stones throw from us. I'm due for a visit to the Vets in Superior in March, could meet for coffee afterwards. That would be nice.
