I connected implement trailer to truck, first time in 4 months. Controller flasthed a 5.H for the first time. Not knowing what that meant, I started pulling trailer down the road, hit the breaks, blew the fuse. I've used this controller for about 3 years, fused it with 15 amp fuse. When I installed it, I measured the current and worst case breaks used 5 amps. So 15 amps has worked just fine.
Well I discovered the code wasn't 5H, it was SH, indicating SHort. I sprayed WD40 in truck plug and cord on trailer. Wiped it out, used hair dryer, replaced fuse and all is well. This has never happened in the past. It may have been caused by water and salts getting in the truck's 7 way plug. I kept an eye on controller all the way.
