McKee Snow Blower

(quoted from post at 20:39:09 02/18/14) Excellent video. Where did you mount the GoPro in the first part of the video?
I started out with the camera on the 7 foot pole sticking out from the left side of the tractor. Switched to the right side at one point. Then fastened the pole down on the snowblower to show the snow coming in. Finally I just clamped the camera mount onto the right side steering rod. Its a bit tricky with the pole causing some bounce and vibration at times but I am pretty satisfied with the results. Always looking for new camera angles to keep it interesting.

iirc Cockshutt had one of the earliest live pto systems?
Don't ever recall of seeing a factory scv or rockshaft on a 40 around here?

You are right, I have never seen another 40 or 50 with three point hitch either. This 40 did not even have hydraulics or pto when dad bought it in the sixties. In those days it was easy to find a wrecker where you could just unbolt a pto or hyd system and install it in half an hour or so.
The three point hitch took a little more work. Anyone familiar with this series Cockshutts knows that the hydraulic option includes the "eyes" for a rockshaft as part of the top cover. I used a front spindle shaft from an old Cockshutt tiller for the rockshaft. Welded some ends on it to attach lift links and draft arms from a wrecked Fordson Major. The lift cylinder is from an old Case pull type combine.
You can see the hydraulic system in greater detail in this video from last year.

The only thing I see wrong is NO CAB! I hate blowing snow without a cab. Cabs are good!

Nice older tractor. I've never been into the sheet metal styling of the older ones like yours or the letter series Farmalls, but still a nice looking tractor.

I use a 1206 Farmall with CAB and HEAT to blow with but am thinking about something like a 706 gasser because it should start better in the - range cold we get here.

Nice video, thank you for showing it.

Right around the 2:20min - kinda funny watching the front right wheel turn with the water droplet centered itself on the hub. Made my eyes loopy for a bit with the vibration and all!

Thanks Rick, its amazing what a little paint will do but I should have had the grille panels installed for the video. A cab would be an improvement. I guess after nearly 40 years out on the open Cockshutt 40 I am used to it.
