kids don't care; part deux

OK, so I gave in an offered up my personal 'worst kid in the galaxy' rant. But, there is a balance to things so here is the other side.
Neighbor has 4 boys. Known them since birth. The oldest graduated college and now works in legal in northern Va. Second graduated from Va Tech and is a civil engineer locally. Third just graduated as chemical engineer and working and more job offers arriving. Youngest is a freshman at Tech and not sure what flavor of engineer he will become. Since he was big enough to reach the pedals I've had him on tractors and dozers. He named me his mentor when he was awarded his Eagle Scout. Proud? You bet. So although I've dealt with a crap-o, I've also encountered 4 of the best. Not bad and 80% is passing.

Wow, you must be something special to get that "Mentor" pin! I hope you have that warm fuzzy feeling inside because you really helped that kid! I ended up giving mine to my dad, there was never really anyone else but him and I anyway, so I thought he deserved it!
I got my Eagle on 11/9/11 at 13, with 50 merit badges..... Bryce

We also have a batch of kids two of the nicest boys around always say thank you and please it was a sad day for me when i found out one got caught in a corn sheller.
One story i like girl wanted to hit the trails like the rest of the kids with dads 4 wheeler he said no she said you big meanie he said yup shes now a college profesor and she can roof a house too.
I always thank or complement parents if i see a kid being nicr

a point I would like to make,,,,,a young man we know,...a good friends son,,,has many tatoos, and piercings ,he plays drums in a very loud screaming band,,,,but,,,he goes to see his grandmother and grandfather every thursday,and is the most interesting and polite young man when you talk to him,so ,,,some youngsters should not be judged ,just wanted to say that because I may have judged him or others like him if I didnt have a firsthand opportuinity to know him.

I new a kid like you said goth type tatoos mascara piercings wierd hairdo. the old folk in town kinda frowned but on sunday it was interesting seening the look on there faces when he got up to pass the collection plate at church

Sorry; if I see a person with several tattoos, my mind automatically says: "Trash" and I avoid having to deal with them. At my age, I call 'em as I see's 'em!

My Wife worked with a couple that did not have any time for their 2nd Son. He would come to the our Farm from the 2nd Grade on and spend the entire summer with us. His parents rarely called or came to visit him.. He grew up and moved on. I miss him a lot and have invited him to visit but he has out grown all we gave him.
