We took a trip to Inverness at the weekend, its about 100 miles from our home. Weather was cold, damp and at times sunny. Hope you enjoy seeing some of our winter countryside.
I will post more later when I have time.

WINTER!?!?!?!?
You and Sam drive me nuts! As I write, the temp. is hovering in the single digits on the wrong side of 0!
I never imagined that Scotland and Ireland would look like paradise in "winter" !

Beautiful photos! I especially like the old church, the tree-lined lane and the gnarly tree in the center of the pasture.

But are you certain it's winter? LOL.

Your winters are very different from ours.

We are having a very mild winter this year, we would often have lots of snow meantime.

Hi Bill, thanks for sharing your photo's. I am in Nova Scotia, east coast of Canada. Nova Scotia is suppose to mean "New Scotland"??. Everything /all areas are white, lot's of snow, doesn't look much like the photo's you posted. Cheers, Murray

The landscape has many similarities to areas around here. I now know where "Inverness" Drive, the next road over gets its name !

great scenes. does the wind blow much in this area in the winter? a friend talked about how much it blew in Edinburgh

Yes we often gets lots of wind Feb, Mar and April.

My ancestors on my father"s side came from Glen Morriston, Inverness shire in about 1760, eventually settleing in Glengarry County Ontario. They are all buried at the United Church in Williamstown Ont from the 1790"s right up to my mon and dad. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Hope ya had a wee dram for me. Love the stuff. JW Red everyday and Laphroaig for special occasions. Learned a taste for it in Dundee and Tayside.
I still love it though the best American Bourbons are distilled within 5 miles of me.
