Update on 2007 GMC buzzer

Thanks to all who told me the radio and left door speaker was the buzzer. Sure enough speaker was bad. I didn't have a tool to remove window crank, but a 17 mm open wrench did the trick.

I used to hate buzzers. After leaving key in ignition way to many times and having a dead battery in the morning, I'm glad to have the buzzer back. I set the radio to Lo so buzzer isn't that bad.

thanks again,
George

But do you know it is still possible to "forget" the keys, even with the buzzer working?

If you turn the key to off, and then pull the key out just slightly, the buzzer will not sound, but the key will still be right there in the switch.

I must have missed an earlier post about this but why would leaving the key in the ignition kill the battery? I never/seldom take mine out. TDF

Humm------why don't you just remove key from ingination and put key in your pocket? Wouldn't that be a better solution than depending on a buzzer that may or may not work?

My earlier response to George"s post was....I got into the habit of pulling the key half way out each time I shut it off- then push it back in. Where I live- keys stay in...home, small town, etc. But our vehicles have changed in regard to "off". Older had "accessory" position, newer turns off all the way to the left, etc., and a replaced ignition in the 93 shop truck just never feels "right" when I turn it off....so I pull and push.

I had a guy come into the shop one day saying his front speakers did not work and they did not.. I have the same truck and know mine worked. It was was a EZ swap to take mine out and installed them in his truck and they still did not work  well mine did not work either so I swamped out the radio and they still did not work   When all said and done my speakers were also bad ell I can not hear and thought they worked,,, I put them back in my truck and been happy ever since :D

I suspect that George has the same problem I do. Parks in garage, doesn't drive that vehicle every day. And doesn't want to look for the key for 2 hours before he leaves cause he has no idea where he left it.

fullthrottle,
You are absolutely right. I park in pole barn or garage. I have too many tools in truck to leave outside.

Yes, I leave key in truck.

What others fail to pick up on is I'm getting old. I have an advanced case of CRS, CAN'T REMEMBER STUFF. My condition is progressing in to AAADD, Advanced Age Attention Deficite Disorder.

If I could remember, I wouldn't have had so many dead batteries. Good thing I have a battery charger.

Things are getting so bad, I went to a fast food place for breakfast. Yes, I locked my keys in the truck. Thank God for AAA. AAA got there before I finished breakfast.

Again, thanks for everyone who told me how to fix by buzzer. I never would have dreamed I would want the alarm going off, but It's a welcome noise.
