A farm I mow in the summer time, asked me if I could help them with plowing snow today, the farm manager had to go out of town, and a woman that lives there has to take care of about 8 horses. I spent 3 hours moving snow in the important areas. But it was a loosing battle with the 30+ mph winds. Do you see anything wrong with the pics Larry???

It feel so good to be in Arizona today, even though it got down to 52 degrees early this morning; should be mid-80's this afternoon.

I'm sure you got what we did, this snow was heavier and packing, it heaves in front of you. Nice to be in a cab at least. I just checked with the other place in Ball$ton Spa, the help got it cleared out, and they got the snow off the roof using heat, don't need a pile of sticks again like in early '09. They ran some salamanders in the center to get some heat to rise, slid right off. I hate the though of those being used on a barn but the center is 50' wide, all old arena footing, no hay or anything nearby.

Clearing this place and the neighbors took from 7:30-215pm, a nice deep heavy packing snow, my 850 ford with loaded tires, double ring chains and that heavy cast iron weight, got stuck twice, once on a slight incline/slope, just had to run with it, head into the field and more accommodating terrain, broke a trail and punched through the snow bank to get onto the lane, then in the pile at the end of the road, normally I can push a slot through it, not today, front end hung up, pushed my way out with the loader. Not a friendly snow to clear, funny how they are all different, just like the flakes. This old tractor sure earned its keep today, but I have to admit, the walk behind blower really saved the day.

Now its time to sit by the stove, and contemplate what to make for dinner LOL !!!!

The round house is pretty cool. There is one just north of Sharon Spa., which is constructed from ICF's 2 story, and it nearly heats it's self when the sun shines.
We got about 14" from the storm and it gave my Kubota B2150 a workout this morning.

That's not a house! It's a mechanical hot walker for horses, they tie the horses to it and they walk in circles. Lol

Horse people live in a different world than I do.
Who the heck would spend that kind of money, to build a building to walk a horse in a circle????
To me horses are useless hay burners, unless they are working draft horses.

Lol, the lady competed internationally in jumping, you should see the indoor arena in the back ground, but this lady has big bucks, more than you could imagine. Lol

Theres a fancy one north of me here, round horse exercise house, up on Rt 40, its someone who can't figure out what to do, sensible like, with their money, they bought a dairy farm and put up a new stable, of course theirs is open, the round house, very fancy too, they probably just head south for the winter.

I hate to criticize the equestrian world, hunters, jumpers and all that, lets just say I tend to agree with you. I've watched this phenomenon since, before school age, and I've never seen much good come from it financially or otherwise. Few years back at our place, not a dime to fix a darned thing, the help.... lets not go there LOL, not one light working on any tractor, one barn completely dark still, too much snow on it, threatening to collapse, up to your @rse in hock with the hay guy, ice everywhere, snow so deep you can't even turn em out, so they get unruly and want a piece of your hide every time you handle one, your best prospect is on the threshold of colic so bad he has to go to Cornell, huge vet bill and a loss if they have to open him up, never right after that, a 24 hour day shift by the time you get back, snow every other day, frozen pipes, have to pay someone to ride them and the list goes on, I may not be the brightest person on the planet, but it would take a darned fool to think this is worth doing in any capacity, unless you burn money like cord wood! Well they have turned things around there quite a bit, but its never like that when I am involved, and I don't see the value in any of it, one of the single most aggravating jobs I have ever had, at an age where it was becoming impossible to do the work any more. Some people love it and would be offended by what I said LOL !

Isn't insanity described by repeatedly doing the same thing over and over, but expecting different results every time ???? LOL .... sounds familiar. LoL.

Jay,I been buzy with snow too, caught your post shis morning,,,,I cant even joke about the jd,,,it is a nice one!it didnt hurt you to go green for a day!
